SAP Fieldglass History
Celebrating Our Twenty Year History of Innovation and Commitment to the Customer
SAP Fieldglass was founded in 1999 on two simple ideas。 First, to create efficiency and transparency in the staffing and procurement industry using the Internet as a software delivery model - what would eventually become known as Software as a Service (SaaS)。
The second was a continued commitment to the customer。 From the start, B2B People (the original company name for SAP Fieldglass) adopted a consultative approach to client support。 Company founder Jai Shekhawat knew that the customer needed to come first, and to help gain a competitive edge, B2B People would need to be intently focused on solving customer's problems。

The tasks involved with procuring contingent labor seem endless: distributing job postings, finding and interviewing job seekers, managing time entry, integrating payroll. And until the mid-1990's, organizations performed all of those task manually.
Even when rudimentary vendor management software packages started to appear, the platforms were often managed by Managed Service Providers (MSPs), which meant that there was no way for buyers to utilize a VMS without also contracting with the MSP。
More importantly, there was no centralized way for buyers and suppliers to connect and easily share information. In short, there was no transparency in the staffing industry, and Jai Shekhawat, founder of SAP Fieldglass, was primed to change that.
You need to fall in love with the problem and not your product... It's really about coming up with solutions for customers.
Founder, SAP Fieldglass
In the late 1990's, Shekhawat, at the time a strategy consultant with Kinsey & Company, noticed that the established players in the staffing VMS market were focused on what they saw as a contingent labor procurement problem. But Shekhawat saw things differently - he realized that no other VMS was empowering the supplier to better meet the buyer's contingent labor needs.
So, in 1999, Shekhawat, along with co-founders Anil Kumar and Udai Kumar, created an alternative to the traditional staffing platforms that corporations were already using, and B2B People (now SAP Fieldglass) was launched.
In recent years, the company has undergone many changes, including the acquisition by SAP in 2014. But the core commitment to its customers, innovation, and leadership皇冠体育网 in the industry remain steadfast and strong. SAP Fieldglass has grown to become the globally recognized leader in external talent management and services procurement, used by organizations around the world to find, engage and manage all types of flexible resources.
